While I wouldnt buy MoM on Ursa (HoTD / Satanic ftw), Vyse is actually a very good item on him, I don't know why you dont liked his idea.
I don't think Ursa needs that much damage items because of W&E, he needs mobility to hit the targets(Vyse is the perfect item for this) and survive long enough (You get this with Satanic / Heart / Skadi, or why not all, lel). I'd say after Phase-Lifesteal-Blink-BKB you'd go for Basher/Abyssal to lockdown the enemy and right-click to death, and for the final item Skadi/Heart or MKB if you need it vs Butterfly carriers / Evasion heroes. Well, for fun times you can buy Desolator, ofcourse. :D
Pretty sure Mushi built sheep in a pro game on Ursa, if that validates it for you.

His whole kit looks good. MoM gives the most raw lifesteal short of Satanic, gives you max movement speed with Phase. Sure, the attack speed isn't much to write home about when OP is activated, but what about when it isn't? Satanic scales better late... MoM secures kills early.

Yes, it is good on Ursa. It's one of the best mid-game pick ups, especially before BKBs become common (hint: none of your opponents got BKB).
It's a far superior item when it comes to bursting supports compared to Abyssal (which isn't sustainable, and has damage that Ursa doesn't need when he can easily finish off supports in the duration of a single Overpower).
By that logic why do you need vyse to burst supports either? You already rape them with an earthshock and overpower.
Because they fucking have stuns and you don't want to waste a bkb for support kills. And it's not just for support. That 3.5 seconds instant disable is VERY GOOD against any hero in this fucking game and since Ursa doesn't really need neither damage nor attack speed, he can invest on utility and survivability and hex is one of the best utility items in the game.

Scythe of vyse on ursa is the same as scythe on meepo. Course, abyssal is better, goes through magic immunity, not to mention you have max attack speed and you'll probably bash on one of the hits.
Also, MOM isn't bad but there are better items. I went MOM + S&Y yesterday, and enjoyed max move speed at all times :D
BTW guys: For ursa, get dominator then build it into satanic + skadi. your ult deals so much fking damage, it's insane. I tested yesterday, an ursa with Skadi + Satanic + Heart has 450 bonus damage with ult more or less
I would disagree that Abyssal > Vyse. Vyse has a longer cast range and duration. Abyssal is melee and is only 2 seconds. It does go through BKB, that is true, but if you have a basher on ursa, you are quite likely to stun a target you are focusing anyways. And if you are using abyssal on a target and then change focus - you are not maximising your effectiveness.
That is true, though you have to take into account that abyssal is only a 3800 upgrade away from basher and also gives you +10 str +100 dmg.
And that +60 damage for an upgrade to basher is just 2 fury swipe hits. Worth it? Not at all.

Hex is interesting, if you have the gold and you have enough damage, it is a good utility.

I got him total free farm up top, he was in that lane solo for a while even, and what did he do with it? Built a blink and a mask of madness. Um ok, mask isn't terrible, ursa needs some lifesteal and the move speed is cool, but wtf he already hits max attack speed with overpower and taking extra dmg on an already squishy hero when kited sucks. Plus we were vs a wraith king, why not do diffusal instead with vlads? Then the idiot makes his next big purchase a scythe. LOL. On ursa. Enjoy that int! But wait guys I can sheep people! Yes and your base dmg is less than mine as lich. Basher was his last item as we we're raxing them.
Well anyway enough ranting, what would your ideal ursa builds be now? I am thinking you don't deviate too much from the original- phase, blink, vlads, bkb as core. Then it gets tricky. To take advantage of the attack modifier diffusal with those 6 nearly instant attacks seems awesome. But it may be situational and only good vs mana reliant heroes. Desolator seems like a real treat for straight up dmg. One of the most effective items in terms of gold for raw dmg. Or you could go super tanky with either skadi or satanic. But are those better options than heart with how heart syncs with your ult? And basher into abyssal is still ridiculously good on ursa.
