A mid-tier player looking for some assistance on improving as a support in General Discussion

    Hello.

I'm a mid tier player (3.2k MMR, trenchtier, I know).

I'd like to know how to improve my plays as a support (for serious games). I have friends who are way above my MMR (4.2k etc) and when we stack, they like to give me the role of support/offlane. I'm not very good with warding spots as well as surviving as a support. I have difficulty managing my money (since I don't get farm and probably die).

    - When to ward?
    - Is constantly spending on ward productive or counter-productive?
    - Surviving team fights
    - What are the good trending support heroes?
    - When to deward? Gem or Sentry?
    - Tips on predicting opponent warding spot?
    - How do I play offlane effectively

Thanks for reading and hope to learn from better players. :)

        1. always
        2. productive
        3. position yourself well
        4. rubick, CM, Lich there are lots and I am too lazy to list them all
        5. Dust is aggressive sentries are defensive. Gem is the best IF you wont lose it :P
        6. River wards and the tree area between the tier 1 towers and experience does help for the less common ward spots
        7. play it and get better at it
