You don't need a pennant to find items. A pennant will increase your chance of getting tournament items if the team your pennant is for is playing in the game.
Pennants currently do nothing in regards to items, you don't need one to get an item. They only did something in TI2 i think
The only thing they do is put a number up below your team's icon of how many people viewing the game have that pennant.
Pennants do work on any tournament game now as of Nov 15th 2012 patch.
But you don't have to get a pennant to get a drop. I have received tournament drops with just the ticket.

No, its randomly selected. But if you don't have a ticket your name is not "in the hat" so to speak.
If you have pendants they increase the odds you have of being the one to get the item, one more chance for each pendant. So if you have a ticket and 10 pendants and there are 1100 people watching with tickets you have a 1% chance at each drop. Also you have to be watching live in-client. Replays and live stream don't count.
Vastly better odds than the lottery, but still not good. Unlike the lottery, if you watch a lot of games, sometimes you win. I think I have watched over 1000 pro-games and won a few times.
Every time I got a drop i was flooded with friend requests for weeks, because the traders watch the replays and see that I got something. So i'm just trying to avoid the hassle by deflecting some of that.
so having a Pennant just increase your chance getting a item? even if its not the teams who plays the game?
It has to be a team in the game. I'm not sure if it has to be the team that gets the ultra kill or the agies steal or whatever.
Also casters sometimes have extra items they give out and I would assume the pendants give you better odds on those, but again not sure. I think the pendants just work like another slot in the RNG, as if you had multiple accounts with tickets.

can some one tell me if u need a Pennant 2 get intem drops in Tournaments does all get a intem wen a team gets a FB or something if so all get the same intem or different ones ???
