Buying BKB feels really weird as a carry in pubs, most of the time. Because it is such an "all in" item, you are motivated to pop it a little bit early and just go ham at the enemy. In pubs, a lot of times this can result in either getting severely kited or being the only one on the team that commits so hard. This is why 9 times out of 10 the most impactful BKB moments in pubs is a reactionary one.

I've recently just personally discovered another thing to check off the list when you're deciding whether or not to buy BKB in your pubs; is your other core also going to purchase BKB in a similar time? If the answer is yes, then you have a LOT more incentive to buy that BKB.

Even as little as stacking two BKBs (carry + mid) in, say, a 25-minute T3 push, can be severely overwhelming to the enemy team to handle, no matter how poorly your team's CC is executed. If your other core is not buying BKB, then I personally believe that it can be argued that a purchase of another item, be it damage or survivability, would be better even though buying BKB seems like the obvious option (say, playing PA against 4 stuns.) That other item can help clear waves better, get solo pickoffs, split push, and take Roshan better than a BKB would, which a lot of times in a pub feels like a lottery "will my team be able to back me up on this?" item.

Tl;dr imo, it is much more impactful to stack your cores' BKB purchases instead of spreading them out.

    Emon

Everygame of dota is different man, you will never know when itll be good but from what ive heard ( a former dota2 pro once told me ) it is really op of you buy bkb at an ealry stage of the game as a position 1 if all the outer towers had been taken down

You won't get severely kited if you are going high ground. Cus you can pop it and just hit towers safely. sometimes that's what it's for, where otherwise an es would wipe you or something. It just depends but you definitely don't want to rush it. It's usually for finishing off the other side.
