you need to win 3 out of 5 games to make playoffs. i have a hard time seeing liquid, vg, vp, eg, newbee, secret and og not making it. the last one is a tossup, but mineski would be the most likely candidate, along with lfy. i dont see pain and vega making playoffs unless they play insanely well.
I don’t have as much faith in OG as you. Obviously they have the skill and experience but results haven’t been that good right now and there’s always some lower seed that surprises at tournaments like fnatic at Katowice. I would say lfy is also a favorite but what have they done with their new roster yet? Might not have it all together yet.
My prediction was so close, I called the first 6 teams to make it and tnc is left. Might 7/8.
Most impressive teams right now I think are EG, vgj thunder, optic and col. Even though optic and col aren't in the tourny yet, I would put them both in the bottom third or so coming into this tournament. Optic took an impressive game of VP, beat OG and took secret to the wire as well. They and complexity have probably had the toughest draws overall, as col beat liquid and minseki, lost to secret and newbee.
EG had a really tough game vs liquid, one of the best matches of the tournament, and they rolled their other games. Very impressive for them. I haven't actually watched any vgj thunder games as I usually can't watch live and they're all blowouts so I didn't both but they have been spanking people.

Bucharest major starts in two days. 16 teams, swiss format, which means teams get split into groups after every round with the losers playing other losers in their group. Get to three wins and you're into the playoffs. Get to three losses and your eliminated. Basically, half the teams will make the playoff, half won't. All matches are only best of 1, which means they could be unpredictable, but at the same time you play people who have the same results as you in your previous matchup. That means you shouldn't get steamrolled by liquid and vp two games in a row, unless one of them drops the ball and loses.
Which teams do you think make the playoffs? I think liquid, vp, vici, newbee and secret are definitely in. They're easily the tier 1 of pro teams with a pretty big dropoff in consistency to that second level. On the next level are teams like eg, og, maybe tnc and mineski on a good day, but do you trust them in this tournament?
I think along with those top 5 I'm going eg, they always find a way to get out of group stage and recency bias, they dropped that first game to lgd at katowice but then ripped off 6 wins in a row before eventually falling 1-2 in the playoff to vp. Yes they are not a top tier team like they used to be, but they're still consistently good.
Also gonna pick tnc and vgj thunder. I just don't trust og right now and lgd fy just replaced two players. Vgj thunder's roster just looks strong and chinese teams are always solid.
