Unless you are Divine or playing on some weird server in the middle of the night, if you are matched with people of a lower medal then it is because you calibrated too high and you are on your way back to where you belong.
Having calibrated high and then lost 500 mmr in a couple of months doesn't make you better than your teammates who will all have a current mmr +/-50 of yours.
