Still a 50% Winrate hero, just gets countered by spirit vessel.
Still a burst machine and a strong laner. And in -3k games where people dont buy pipe/hood, Vessel or BKB until its too late. Hes still grind-worthy
He's still decent. I'd pick him as position 1 or 2(vs melee mid or with decent help mid) in current meta.
Not sure about position 3. Hes kinda weak vs this meta carries on offlane e.g. AM, Luna, Medusa, Sniper. But he's pretty strong vs almost any melee carry without stuns e.g. PA, Slark, Lycan, Lifestealer. Also mid heroes like Invoker or Tinker can be trouble for Necro. SF or TA is easy mmr tho.
So, if you pick him vs right heroes he feels really strong.
Personally, I played him on position 3. However, I don't play on him anymore because Midas got nerfed and people actually adapted and now they can zone out Necro :C. But it's my playstyle not really Necro that got nerfed.
i think he is bad. barely playable. his mana sustain is much worse now, runs out of mana much more quickly and if they have any mana burners, good luck. spirit vessel is a counter as well.

Sf out dmgs u with right clicks, if u pop ghost shroud u just evaporate.
I play him a lot still. It is just much harder to sustain but with a few clarities here and there he can still farm like a monster.
