been there but u know what i did? I git gud, mute all players like im playing bot match and then i win like a bot match easily :)
@Malaria I checked strict solo to avoid that
@Washed who cares that u don't care, gtfo
@Rolly it's not a matter of gettin' out; as long as I flame and am toxic I'll be in shadow no matter games result. I just wanted to know if that kind of mechanic may exists 'cuz it rly seems unfair. I'm fine being in shadow, but all the 10 players should
@TripleSteal why should it make sense? Shadow's not meant to lose you games but to match toxic with toxic and let well mannered players have fun together. Isn't it?
i dont think it works that way, this would be pretty unfair
mb try polling people u get matched against about their bscore, on a sample size of ~20 games u can start making some conclusions
@dreux I already thought about that, problem is sampling the score since I should ask them to tell me or check dotabuff if they subscribed :(
just ask them in allchat if their behavior score is normal or not, i think most people know their score
currently the behavior grading seems to be like "normal > piss > shit > A-F" so u dont even care about their exact grade just if its normal or not
I made a post about this a while ago and as far as I am concerned it is pretty much true.
well its not really unfair for the "shadow pool team" per se, but its almost always gonna be free wins for the other team if its true. it would just be giving free MMR to 5 people. so it definitely should not work like that. if it does then valve doesnt care i guess.
@Aggressive Perfector yes, that's what I meant; shadow pool ain't unfair, it's the feeling that it's just your team and yes, volvo doesn't give a fuck about sharing matchmaking rules, not even shallow infos.
@Lone Dog I could definetely recall that someone posted this thoughts, yet I couldn't find the post.
Btw I checked DB profiles and BS for those who subscribed it on enemy teams, still trash tho. Imma dig as deep as I can
Does no one know the ye olde trick of going into co-op bot for 20 games to max out your behavior score?
i mean seriously, just pick brood or something and end at 10 min
Or just go afk in frostivus, they cant report you and its about 15 mins average per match. xD
It does work like this for sure. Im like 70% winrate if im normal behaviour, and like 30-40% if im on f behaviour. Its always the Same.
Washed up get a fuckin life you loner nobody cares about your stupid ass opinions
Trash team I feel you man, I've noticed it the past couple months where my team is filled with toxic c*nts (including me) while the other 5 are normal Bs. Gg valve don't give 2 shits about us
I've been saying this for months. Most of the times the other team is made of people who don't enrage or troll while mine is a shitshow
Games often going 30-5, stomps from the other team, ridiculous losing streaks in brackets people had at least 50% winrate in and people still fucking question this thing. Of course it's not always 10 toxic people matched together, that doesn't even happen in half of the games.
I had an acc I tried to drop mmr by a lot to play bcups with friends and I ruined many many games, got so many reports and lp's I would get another one after getting out and I tried to play normally like 10 games to get my behavior score up a bit and in 50% of them someone from my team abandoned the game, went dual mid, or just randomed and ran down mid... I dont think I had more than 2 games I could call decent, I kinda believe there's a place for toxic players now, or ppl at that mmr are just braindead.
I've trying to be as toxic as possible on my alt account, then I'll be able to make a statement on this whole shadowpool thing as well. From what I'm initially getting right now, seems to be toxic versus toxic, no signs of the "one-sided" shadowpools as of yet. But I'm only on C behavior score, I might have to go lower to see the effect you're experiencing.
It's actually 2 birds with one stone, I release all my toxicity(on my smurf), which allows me to be calm and maintain my normal BS on this account, my main.
thats a msytery actually . i only know that my 90% games are with mostly russians ( trolling, acc buyers, drunk ect ) players . even enemy team looks prety russian though lul. every game i see a big text of wall in russian language at post game .
i mean i queue only in europe west always, how is that a thing ?!!
@Mlada that's just another volvo fine mechanic, let russian scum play eu and ruin everyone game
Dude @ed edd and Eddie
If no one cares, why TF r u stalking every recent thread I've commented to talk shit ROFL
Not complaining here, just sayin' that toxic trash like me should be matched with 9 toxic trash, not 4.
saying that you dont have selective memory or some kind of bias, but then you dont use big data set or have any form of evidence except your own perception of how the enmy team is more well behaved.
@HanSolo go find the sentence where I said I'm not biased or smth. Can't? It's 'cuz I never said so. Also, if u have such big data set, feel free to post it here or link it.
Also
"git gud" and "you r biased" ppl spare us your cheap 3-mins-youtube-video psychological facts about selective memories and learning bias bullshit.
So gtfo, ty.
Brought it to reddit

If anyone has some spare time, go there upvote/comment and bring it to the FP where we know gaben gets all the ideas for the game
It's one-sided. Not sure how exactly does it work, but I'm sure you are matched with worse players than the enemy.

So, I'm fine being in shadow pool, I'm a flamer and I suck dicks at Dota, I hate russians and I love telling them, I get my reports and I don't complain. Shadow pool's my place.
Anyways, besides the eternal debate about the real existence of such pool and the world-infamous post on dota dev forum, what is really buggin' me is that since the last two times I got LP, I started noticing a strange trend in games (never been low prio before).
It looks like the "matching toxic player together" works on just one side which means that, if you r in the pool, your team is made out of toxic ppl (including myself) while the enemy is "regular" players.
Did someone else got the same feeling?
