It's just generally harder to make actual proper impact as supports.
And its fun to playing core and easier to have actual impact.
I climbed as core. Tried to climb with support, and its hard as fuck
No one wants to play support In Dota. It's just how the game has evolved to split farm. I say fuck it. Do whatever u want
Perform like this when you have to play support:
Disruptor
Kunkka
Slardar
Sand King
And like this when you get to carry:
Sven
Anti Mage
Chaos Knight
Morphing
I'm not even a carry player, but even in games where I'm faced by an aggro lane, left alone by my support or contested by him and forced to jungle level 1, I come out on top. I buy support items when needed.
In games where I have to solo support, I create favourable situations and guide the team to objectives.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

kotl is quite good at that Kappa
try to find 1-2 roamers that are fun to you.
i mark pos1 when i start a match. if somebody really wants to contest it ill go roam usually. clockwerk is quite strong rn but has a high skill cap. i spammed spirit breaker for a while, hes not too strong atm imo. teamfighting pos4 heroes with a stun are never a bad pick tho, like sk slardar shaker
Notice how most supports I pick are versatile and can fit either position 3 or 4.
This development is the most fucked up part in DOTA.
They thought that too much gold in game would make carry farm too fast so they reduce the gold over all the map especially "assist gold". Prior to 6.87 if you go with 1 people and kill lvl.6 hero assisted one will recieve 142 gold but after 6.87 it became 125 , 94 in 7.00 and around 80 now (In big team fight you almost get nothing for assisting). (also they make your passive gold increase slower by 10% )
Actually Core won't suffer that much from changes but Supports did. Playing as positon5 support nowadays is only a suffering because you can't leech exp from lane and you can't do much early because starting items cost 360 gold from you since minute 0. (200+80+80) and your hero pool is very small. (Criteria : strong w/o items or gold).
position4 became popular because no one want to be position5
the only way supporting becomes more important is if carrying becomes less important. less farming of items into late game, less level + item dependent + stronger scaling for support hero and greater passive gold so farming is less important.
Because it's a solo ranked game and no one trust one another, everyone think that their teammate is a trash player and they don't belong in the same bracket with them.
Obliviously judging one another, ignoring the fact that they themselves belong in the same bracket.
its harder to support thats why people dont pick support because they are too dumb for that shit.. see kuroky and gh they have 999 iq while the core players have 666 iq
I'm gonna kill myself in a few days. So what does it matter anyway. Keep mocking and insulting me over a 5 month old game all you want. That's the brilliant thing about being anonymous on the internet. You have nothing to worry about.
I have to grief myself. Team actually TOLD me to go carry and a FAILED them. But I did finally say if I'm going to support, even position five, i'm going as my favorite hero Wind Ranger and we stomped it.
please don't kiIl yourself :'( i will feel very sad if you do it !!!1!!!!11!!!!ONE!!!!
But if you have impact early on you can build up some items and have impact late too.
A blink and a agha makes you strong whit like 2/3 of supports.
And your spells can have big impact later on if you just play well.
I used to be a player who doesnt even care wht the draft is and jst play wht ever hero u want. But lately i stop to be a selfish player and start to care with team which is become supp and yeah can get away from my losing streak

Why is that everyone seems to be so against picking supports?
Even when I'm the highest ranked player I still end up having to grab the support hero because nobody wants to.
Am I just unlucky or is this a common theme?
