Meant guardian 3 to Archon 1. What does the matchmaking have to do with rank gain.
I think you need to play one more game after callibration to get the correct medal.
There was a bug. Pros such as rtz was given archon when he had 6k+ mmr.
I don't even know how the mm system works anymore. I calibrated mine this morning and I got 3066 mmr and I'm legend 2 🤔
I've played probably 30 matches since calibrating. Calibrated as acrusader 2 star. Increased to 3 star after a couple wins. Was winning 65-70% of my games, had 4 straight losses then the omni win where I pretty much won the game for us and went from crusader 3 to Archon 1.
Sorry I don't see an issue with matchmaking being the reason that I increased by so much. I would imagine that the medals aren't solely based on MMR?
I calibrated crusader 3 and grind my way up to crusader 5. I lost 3 games and won 1 game and tadaaaa Archon. I think it's based on performance.

Nah, there are some inconsistencies early on when you get the medal, and even a bit later on, but ir is still completely MMR based, it doesn't regard anything else.
I think valve are actually had target player-base proportions for each medal and as more of the community calibrates, they are tweaking the boundaries.
I also have the same situation.i got ceusader 1 with 1830 mmr but i win 2 games with high skill and i calibrated to archon 2.thats nice to me.hehe
i think its based on performance. i was on 2100 mmr with crusader [3] then i went on a losing spree with great performance (550-800 gpm and good kda's) and when i won recently with around 1900 mmr, i was promoted to crusader [4]
I think u calibrated your solo mmr first which is lower , then you calibrated your party mmr then you got your party rank medal( the medal displays the highest rank you achieved which in your case party rank.)

There are a ton of examples on reddit right now with photo and profile proofs that show the theory of people calibrating their mmrs at different times being responsible for these jumps in medal rankings is false. There's a 3800 Ancient 4 person with both around that level and there's a 5.4k guy that's at legend 5 with both mmrs nearly the same. I said it when medals were released, I'll say it again because apparently major sites didn't listen. Medals are NOT directly tied to your mmr. This much is clear. We need more testing to find out what these new deciding factors are.
Something else is at play that we don't have figured out yet.

one of my friend is a divine 2 before,lost 500 mmr ( went to 4,9k now,was 5,5 ) but at 5,1 or smth he got promoted to div 3 even tho

-The Medals are a combination of solo MMR and party MMR.
-The Medals show the highest rank you have.
Either they updated the Medal with the party MMR or they updated the medal from their database from the past year.
E.g. Dylan was 2860 MMR (equals archon 2 star) a year ago, currently hes 1800 MMR.
His highest MMR was archon 2.
EDIT: But i also think that valve doesnt want to show MMR, rather the medal.
Since if you have fewer playerbase, your MMR also gets lower, which might confuse some players.
@rocket: sure they are tweaking the numbers, thats why the medals show your skill.

But i doubt you, because some people who were 1700 MMR suddenly become a 4 star archon and still play with guardians. (thats me, currently 1000 MMR)
^ The comment above has it right. I'm currently 2.2k which would be a crusader 4 or 5 but I got Archon 1 because when I first calibrated, I got 2.7k.

Still trying to figure out this medal system. I went from guardian 3 star to Archon 1 with 1 match. Supported my ass off with omni and we got the win....this was after losing 4 straight matches. And my mmr was about 2000 even.
