they also made leveling up and farming gold a lot easier (e.g. denies don't "deny" much xp, creeps give more gold/xp, xp requirement for levels are lower).
they added what was once known as "easy mode" in dota 1.
sounds to me like they're making it a lot easier for casuals, and trying to expand the player base. makes good financial sense.
silver edge hit no longer applies damage reduction, now the only counter against blade mail is to not damage the enemy, that means a right click carry can counter axe is gone. Now you have to prey to your support to build a eul's , and they need fast fingers.

the new items are pretty nutts as well, especially the nullifier, dooms enemy for 5 seconds, and slows them100% when they are attcked.
Kaya seems really shit tho, you basically build an 1950 gold item that gives 10% spell amp, which becomes less relevant in less than 10 min. You can also take 10%less mana void damage, seems really fucking useful.
denies are fucking insane, I imagine mids with high right click damage are gonna have a much easier time(invoker, ta, sf, viper) sf and viper get high right click damage from their spells, you know what I mean.
gyro now can become a shitty late game carry with global, short cd wave clear, what's the point?
invoker is now significantly cooler, and much worse(hp and all stat talent replaced by cool stuff that's hardly useful)
io is so fucking cool, in a good way. I love seeing this, my graphic card is arriving this or next week, gonna play some fucking dota 2 and pubg.
medusa having a passive split shot is a step behind because now you cannot control your damage (if you have a bane on your team, I imagine you would want to make sure you do not hit the target if not necessary, and even if you dont give too much of a shit about blademail, you should still have a way to avoid hitting blademail if you are not hitting that unit primarily).
Viper lost his passive dmg in lane. Nethertoxin changed.
I think new Medusa is stronger, doesn’t lose dmg on primary target, better talents. She’s usually tanky enough for blade mail aoe.
