NO you wont get banned.Mods are legalized by valve unless it gives you unfair advantage.Like there used to be a mod where tou could see enemy torrent and sunstrike that kind of thing.There is a software for modding dota i can share it with you.Its totally free.But be careful when you use mods because some of them f**k the game like you load into the match and the screen is black.https://dota2mods.com use this software its simle and easy to use.

Using commands in the console.
Using commands in the Launch Options.
Using cheats in private lobbies.
Using multiple accounts.
Using a legitimate third party chat program like Xfire.

there is some issues with this dota2mods such as
it is too hard to target Phantom assassin if u use her arcana mod ( when u playing against pa)
and sf attacks just goes slow with arcana
If you modify game files/hook into them VAC might get triggered (litarly). But i'm not sure about visual mods etc. I think those are fine.
yup they are fine .just check once with bot matches.Some times game crashes during use of skills due to mods
And u get free LP cuz cant rc properly unless u remove mods
