I play only on a laptop, and not a fancy gaming one, I have a decent above-avarage hp that costs 1100$. It's a fine laptop but doesn't rack up the specs (i7 6700k, r7 m540)

It work just fine, the reason i have problems playing is the internet
It does get hot a bit, but it never got shut down (my previous laptop did)

      Ayaneru ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Getting hot on laptop is normal if your playing game. But If it gets too hot than normal, stop playing.

Also, don't play in a hot room. If posible, play in a air conditioned cold room.

That can be sometimes problematic, I live in Israel, and sometimes it can even reach the 50 Celsius. And I don't have A/C that thing's expensive as hell

If you can spend big bucks on a laptop, a pc is a better option. For the record though, I took a gaming laptop since space is an issue for me (I live in a room), and I still need something portable for schoolwork. Ultimately whatever's practical for you should be just fine.

I'd buy a laptop if it had some 17" 144hz+ ips screen with gsync and a mechanical keyboard ofc.

                              Thats what i got^ :)

                                i got a laptop, $900ish
                                got i7 2.6GHz and a GTX 950, and 16 gb ram
pretty good laptop, its called the HP ENVY Notebook
                                works fine for me

                                0 pullout game

Since 2015 Nvidia introduced the M series gpu's...which was a quantum leap from the previous generations.
The only weakness the laptop had was the graphics card...ram,storage,cpu where all good.

Now 1-1.5k laptop is a more reasonable option.

Been gaming on my asus laptop since 2015...traveling everywhere, 100% worth even if I was not traveling.
Bought it for 1.4k $$...still rocking most games at high setting.
