The question you are looking for is when does riki start getting useless.
The answer is sadly above 4k. There are even 5kers that deal really bad with invisible heroes on the map, I have even seen some sing sing or bull dogge games where the supps did really stupid shit with a riki or bh on the other side of the map.
Also, last picking a roamer is a terrible habit. Last picking should be meant for your pos 1 or 2 situationally for the 3 like maybe an enigma or broodmother
Well, thank you @cookie. I'll have to try it out in my next match. A first instant pick roamer. @Dragy10 the roamer gets completely useless only when that hero gets completely crushed. The non existent of offlane choice of heroes going to an offlane and not crushing enemy's safelane is the primary issue in this bracket. Sadly, if anyone were to pick an over powered offlaner, the lane gets contested with the own teammate by making it a meaningless dual lane.
@cookie hypothetically, if I get an afk jungle of teammate like LC / AXE/ WK, do I have to switch my role and transition into an offlaner, ignoring my previous planned role? How do I make the best of this type of situation in the first 15 minutes of a match?
I. Carry a tp scroll and be a counter initiating hero reacting to potential ganks as laning as an offlanerr?
II. Abandon the offlane and continually roams and snipes courier and ganks mid as a BH and occasionally visits offlane ONLY when the creewave gets pushed in?
tell them you're roaming and if they go jungle you'll follow them around and take every LH from them.
@Cookie I tried the instant pick, it worked out. Maneuvered my itemization, gained +25. I'll try spamming this instant pick roaming riki for about 20 matches. I can't wait till I get some junglers in my team. Thank you Cookie. XD
usually what i do is i pick my hero first or second and say that im roaming.
sometimes people pick jungle anyway. in ranked im just playing to win, and i won many games like that.
i normal MM, as soon as someoke marks jungle after i picked a roamer. i tell him if he picks jungle i will start with 6 sentries and block all camps, and i actually do it (like my last sk game)

Self explanatory. I've experimented a last pick roaming riki in a few of my matches and it turned out real well. In a broader perspective, I want to learn more about this role in terms of DRAFTING. A penny for everyone's thoughts. Help a brother out.
