The Abyss Watchers were probably one of the better bosses when you look at how easy every boss before them were. Bosses didn't really get good or challenging till Pontiff Sulyvahn.
Bloodborne is much harder than ds3 though, nameless king was so hard, I died 5-6 times before beating him
