Yeah, but they play worse in ranked.

They care more about ranked games than normal games.
The more they care, the more they tilt when something goes wrong.
The more they tilt, the more they flame and rage at teammates.
The more they flame and rage, the more they demotivate their team to win.
The more demotivated their team is, the more they concentrate on finding that one mistake that can seal the deal and give you the excuse that there's no coming back from there.

Why do you think I've played SO many fucking siltbreaker games in the past few days, most of which average 10 minutes? The moment someone dies, they see no hope of getting 30 stars and a perfect win, even if they themselves don't know how to do a perfect run and would rather hit every crate and box while doing the first zone, not bothering about the timer. They will quit on the first or second zone itself, therefore removing any possibility of advancing even a little further and learning something from it, even if on 1 life and ultimately losing. If abandoning ranked games gave no punishment, you'd see people leave before the timer hit 0:00.

And remember, losing a ranked game might be -25, but it's a difference of 50 MMR from where you could have been.

I agree.

uh I disagree, maybe people do stress out in ranked but they try hard. In normal people fuck around with picks, items, play styles and just do stupid stuff you wouldn't see otherwise.
