Changing DNS settings may significantly decrease your ping in General Discussion

Okay, I don't know how common knowledge that shit is, but I was kind of amazed so I thought I'd share. Yesterday i had a ping of 600 on US east (which was kind of odd, I am currently renting but internet always seemed to be a bit better than that).
So I did a bit of digging and changed my DNS settings to Google DNS and my ping went down to 40 which is even better than at the best day pre-change. Anyways thought I'd share since it might improve quality of the game for some of my fellow dotes appreciators, sorry if there was a thread like that I just havent seen it.

Getting a better ISP may decrease your ping too.

just google "changing DNS on *your OS of choice*" it' ll show you it takes like 1 min. I used google DNS which is 8.8.8.8 I believe.

getting better ISP makes no sense because I am renting for a month before moving to another city.

I think it got worse by adding 1 more ms to my ping.
