I'd like to address this more in detail actually. I've been playing Dota on my laptop ever since it was brand new. This was in 2014, almost exactly 3 years ago. Not a top spec monster laptop, but pretty good for the time with an i5 processor and 2GB graphics card. I won't go much into the tech specs unless really necessary, but since then, performance has MONUMENTALLY dropped.
I used to play on ultra settings, everything set to max and everything except VSync enabled. I would get 110 fps on a good day but never drop below 100 if I recall correctly.
Since then, and especially after the 7.00 change, it is insane how much it has dropped. I play on everything set to minimum and render quality set to 78% instead of the usual 100%. Now, I get 33-35 fps on a good day, but usually 11-15 fps (yes, thats not a typo) which is a nightmare to be honest.
I don't realise what could have caused performance to drop so much. I've tried different graphics card driver versions, doing a clean install of the entire OS and game, nothing running in the background and even basic disables like XBox DVR and Gamebar. The only difference is that I use Windows 10 now instead of Windows 8. I have confirmed driver versions are supported and Nvidia card is always the one used for Dota.
Does a laptop's RAM or Graphics card just sort of 'wear down' over time and give lower performance? I know this sounds like a newbie question, but I really am lost for the purpose after trying so many different things.
I use these launch options btw:
-high -dx11 -nod3d9ex -nofocus -novr -nohltv -nojoy -disablehangwatchdog -console -condebug -conclearlog
Haven't always used these exact ones, changed over time and even tried using none. Are they all good/useful and should I add any more? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I use edge pan ! Today i m having problem with it ! Its not smooth as it was before plus no fps drop at all ! Can any1 help me ????
ya since coming back to dota in 7.04 I havent ever hit more than 33-35 fps. It was always 60 before
Yeah, I think it might have been 7.04 too. Wasn't exactly the whole map and interface change in 7.00 that really did it. Was the battle pass released during that time? Or the siltbreaker campaign? I can't put my finger on it.
Anyway, some help or suggestions with the launch options please? Reddit really doesn't help.
i use linux on my shit laptop and i have decent performance (didn't check fps yet) on 100% rendering, high texture quality and some other settings enabled. but i do sometimes notice huge ping spikes but that is probably unrelated

As the title says me and other players experience huge FPS drops while playing. [EU WEST]
On Reddit memes are more important, so I thought I could get some attention here since this is a real problem.
Does anyone know what to do? I've never had any problems with Dota before.
