@cookie it really depends if he actually plays or not. Just because someone understands the game doesn't mean he is able to play it a certain level

For all you know he has a team of ppl working to gather information and stats and he employs 7ks to feed him insight about gameplay

for a game developer to balance the game, he should know how to play it better most than any 4k shitters in this forum, like me krappa

prob 2k, since a lot of pro players say he ask them for ideas about buffs and nerfs, and sometimes he can break heroes. Plus he hates techies so he must be a very bad player

IceFrog isnt just one person. Its a small group of developers who work together on Dota 2 for Valve. Its just an alias or identity given to create some kind of mystery around the whole thing. No one can handle developer work on such a massive and detailed game alone.
