in low level games people dont shut down the spectre which means she gets way too farmed and kills everyone and wins the game
Spectre is my first hero and i can tell you she's the shittiest hero in lane in Dota2, and among the shittiest heroes in teamfights for most of the game. having a hard harasser in lane with you is extremely recommended ^_^
OP, they only have high winrates because they are braindead heroes.
That is like spamming Axe and securing a lot of kills, and thinking you are good when you play Axe.
Alright first game was a wash since Ember snowballed. I didn't lose mid lane, and was even ganked twice with no help from my team but meh. Warm up game.

The morphling did good work creating a lot of space and our team fight ulties were too strong for them to deal with, especially with a spectre ulting in on top from the other side of the map.
Now keep in mind this was with pretty shitty farm on my part - half pressure in lane and partly missed CS cause I'm bad after being away so long. Plus I'm trying to play spectre as a really early game fighting hero. Ie treads->aquila->diffusal or manta and only then radiance and getting involved in as much fighting as I could rather than afk farming. They had a decent team for roaming as well (storm and pudge nearly picked me off but they just lacked enough damage to finish the job thanks to strength treads.
So so far it is +24.
spec had no changes, but got indirect buffs due to the offlaners tranquil nerf, and increased cost of silver edge.
Also
Phase boots is better than treads for fighting and chasing overall but treads is better for farming
I would have gone phase before but treads now give plus 10 stats again. That 200 extra hp in the early game is too good to pass up. Have survived several ganks because of it.
I have taken an interest in Spectre lately, not to play, but to watch. I have watched around 20 +6k Spectre games in the last couple of days and I have yet to see one build PT or Aquila, although a majority get PMS and Talon. They sometimes build MoM and Midas for attack speed and farm acceleration, but most of them go legacy Drum / Urn, or naked rush Diffusal / Manta / Radiance.
But then again, if it works for you, no need to change it. There is certainly logic in your items after all.
I remember spec Zeus being meta. I think the global ult combo relied on a furion Zeus spec core back in I wanna say 6.85?

Keep in mind my theory is that Zeus/Spectre is back. So far I've only played 1 of Zeus with no Spec, and 2 Specs with no Zeus. Still in the game where there was also a lot of team fight magical damage (Sandking/Mag) she was very strong. The enemy wasn't able to focus her down. In the other game where there was only a lot of single target focus and too much cc from the enemy she wasn't able to do as well.
Spectre's winrate has also shot up a full percentage point - over just the past 3 days.
Moo in that 7k game also went treads/aquila. I like it as it gives a mix of hp and damage for not too expensive a cost. Mask of Madness would need a cooldown buff I think, down to 16 seconds before it's worthwhile. The old MoM had a 50% downtime, now it's 60% downtime, and the movespeed nerf from before is still there which makes it much worse than before.
Finally got to play a game as it's meant to be - ie Zeus and Spec together.

Pick them now before others catch on and then dodge games until they get nerfed.
spectre's winrate has definitely climbed. so she is definitely more viable.
that said i've played against spectre recently and she doesnt seem strong
Has her pick rate increased? Cause if so, that's probably why her win rate is up, that happens everytime a hero becomes more popular, they'll jump fro 47% to like 53% and stuff cause good players who aren't mindless are playing the hero.
I don't think her win rate means anything at this point. The archetype of the hero itself is the problem, she will always have a high win rate due to the nature of her skills, similar to omni. (mostly her ultimate, even Omni's ult seem OP on paper if you were to read it and not play Dota) She scales infinitely until the late game, and the amount of damage desloate, radiance, and diffusal haunt do in team fights make most fights won before they even start. Not only that, she can actually contribute as a carry early game when built right, her ult is global. Another thing about her ult is that there's this weird psychological factor to it, the team that gets haunted almost always run away when you ult, even when you don't have radiance yet. lol

This week Spectre and Zeus have the highest and third highest winrates of all heroes.
I've indicated before how this combo is set to explode in a massive way as soon as people realise this.
This weekend I'm house sitting for Easter so I'll have access to Internet. I plan to play only spectre or Zeus in ranked. At the end of the weekend I will compare how much MMR I have won or lost. Keep in mind I haven't played for 4 months, and that was only about 10 games with a 3 month break before then. So I'm pretty out of practice. My theory is that the strength of these heroes alone will let me win more MMR than I lose even taking that into account.
