Redudant. It might be a good item against WK and Dusa but i don't find it necessary if these heroes mentioned were not picked.
He has enough slows, and his attack speed isn't high enough to warrant getting it for the mana burn. An extra 16 agility at 15 isn't that much. It's hard running away from Viper, but it's also hard for Viper to run away from others, you just have to build around surviving 1v1 encounters with others. You want a combination of tanky survivability items and damage items.
^^ follow your heart, if you like that gameplay then don't listen to us hahahaha. agree with manipulator here, it is redundant for viper. buy manta/pike than diffu. even with those heroes mentioned above, i disagree with that diffu rather go deso on wk and medusa. you can go mjollnir if you want hahaha. dont mind me, im just a 1k scrub :p

Yup, don't do mask cus you can't cast poison anymore. That would be very awful.
I think diffusal is not really what viper needs.
Look at the heroes strengths and weaknesses, already has slows, has nice armor and hp for an agility hero, has great physical dmg with nethertoxin.
Weaknesses, pretty slow hero, actually is squishy early without max corrosive skin, farms extremely slow, no aoe.
So you want to accentuate strengths and cover weaknesses. Diffusal doesn't really do that, it just adds to the kit what he already has.
I'm spamming viper only 5 games in since the last patch cus I feel putting poison attack vs buildings on level 20 was a pretty huge buff, as is 20 armor at 25. Only lost one match and that was basically a whole shit show roflstomp by enemy team.
I go treads, aquila, lance, maelstrom then decide whether to finish mjollnir or other stuff first. Mjollnir is huge on this hero I've learned, it covers up a bunch of your issues like no aoe and farm speed and attack speed. Then you can decide whether you need more mobility with a yasha or finishing pike or maybe sivler edge, or tankiness with skadi or linkens or something or just more dmg with butterfly/deso/ac/mkb/daedulus/bloodthorn. Viper's pretty flexible but I feel mjollnir fits him so well right now. Diffusal isn't a bad choice but I think there are better options.

I think cus you can dispel strafe. You can't dispel windwalk or his ult.

Mek is good against burst damage and blademail, and adds to the armor and the cancer of Viper, usually go for lance-mek then itemize for the enemy, if you want to go full raid boss, go cuirass.
Spazky that build was a few patches ago when people were getting buckler on od and mek on sf as well
The ONLY reason you buy Diffusal Blade on Viper is to deal with Ember Spirit. Purge removes both Flameguard and Thor's Hammer active.
Overall, I reccommend against it.
His Q and Corrosive Skin are both magical, he doesn't need a purge to remove flame guard he can do it just fine on his own
He doesn't care much for the damage either because he has + magic resis, if you really really really want to do it build a hood and if no one else is building it then build a pipe
I don't actually think Diffusal is too terrible for damage though mind you, but the purge is extremely situational, before I would've said always get it against an Omniknight but you can't purge repel anymore and getting it just for GA isn't worth it
