Midas Change, The Support Scenario in General Discussion

Its Min 8 in the game, you're the pos . 332 support cause your team has gone greedy and you have a jungler, or roamer who isn't helping with wards and support items.

You participate in some kills and wipe the enemy mid laner mega kill streak and now have a choice with all that money you just got. What is the best utilization of that huge chunk of cash?

Do you A) Buy a midas
    B) Buy force staff, glimmer, ghost to stay alive?

Thinking if against a LS , clock slark, would it be better to get those items to save yourself teammate or go greedy to get midas and get those items like 7-8 min later?

    Thanks for the insight

someone needs to do the new midas gold math to see when it pays for itself

I don't think u go midas anymore, since they nerfed levels, and that's kinda why u got it on supports. cores can still get it if they can afford to purchase it very early.

In my opinion it's very situational. If you are late game orientated and able to survive, I'd go midas. Obviously if I see that we are struggling and my cores keep getting ganked, I'd definately get glimmer or force. If I was the core on a losing team and my support buys a midas in order to eventually get am aghs or something, I would possibly be somewhat upset

Is it legit for Safelane Spectre go midas after brown boots? i mean i do not have the easiest lane, their hard lane is necrophos and lion, i basically get no farm, take a few under tower roaming around taking runes.. yea we won, just like to find out is it a viable item on Spec, thanks

eating skeletons with midas seems reasonable to me. extra 2 sentry wards from those pesky warriors not bad at all

Midas on certain supports was there to accelerate levels which prioritized their abilities over other impact items. The general formula had an item / utility support and then it had the ability / ward support I believe. The second one is who you would usually put a Midas on because their abilities played more of a role than items by the same minute mark. Its now a gpm accelerating item rather than an xpm accelerating item. Its no longer viable on supports.

At least that's what I'm getting from everyone who's talking about it.

@theplasmaticwitch. I would kinda agree with you, although I would still advocate it on some heros who need aghs or regresher to really be relevant

Spectre shud never go midas, lategame isnt a problem for her, getting to the lategame is.

                        2050 / 220 = 9.3 uses to pay for itself.

                        100 x 9.3 = 930 seconds to use it that many times.

                        930 / 60 = 15 and a half minutes to pay for itself fully.

Gpm went up by 0.3 while xpm went down by 0.75.

                          @ plaswitch

thanks for the math. Yeah It doesn't look like a good idea now for supports who want a fast lvl 18 ( phoenix for example )

                          A
                          A

You still can go on midas you don't need the xp you already got enough with team fights
