I feel like echo sabre and dragon lance are pretty even trade offs. It would be cool if melee heroes had two items like ranged heroes have pike AND lance (even though lance builds into pike, they still have two options). And perhaps they could change the stats to echo sabre, or give it some type of an upgrade. Idk.
And not so sure about lotus orb countering 'everything'. I do need to build this more thoyugh
Basher/Abyssal Blade are built pretty much exclusively by melee heroes and in the right hands they can have a massive impact on a game.

Pike is a biggest buff to range heroes in dota history(all heroes are sniper now )
melle heroes are so in disadvantage 0 new items for melle
