Best way to get MMR is destroy the enemy Ancient, and the difference between 5k and 6k is that 6ks destroy enemy Ancients better than 5ks.
5ks talk shit about destroying ancients, 6ks spam strong meta heroes until they know them like the back of their hand. I highly recommend finding a small pool of strong heroes that you can already play decently, watch good pub players play the hero then just play the shit out of it until you are 6k. If you can't hit 6k doing this you probably can't do it in any way at all.

are there a ton of tiny things that extremely good dota players do that the 99.99% who cant cut it dont? yes but its tedious to go through them all and i doubt i know that many of them
Best way to achieve 6k is to buy a 6k account and drop it to your main acc's mmr after one or two months. The difference between a 2k-5k and a 6k+ player is who is richer so as to have more money to buy a 6k account and drop it eventually and/or have more free time to spend on dota, have a better pc to play it on 100+fps vs 30-40 and also have a better life in general that depends a lot in the place you live.

but calibrating a smurf at 3k and having 90% winrate also sounds boring as hell. challenge is good and the fastest way to improve is playing against ur betters
