You go for bf manta abbysal most of the time because it give you solo pickoff and burst damage potential
of course i go bf manta abyssal, what's the point of rushing abyssal if you cant mana burn fast enough
If you build heart in any situation in this patch on AM you are bad at Dota. In 6.88 it was horrid in all but 1% of games now its crossed the line to 0%.

IMO Butterfly is good when you feel you have the supports that can sustain you when you siege tier 3's since it complements with manta for faster push. because abyssal already gives good amount of hp.
However, if you are in a situation wherein your team has to let you tank some damage and/or they need to stay really far back as you siege tier 3's and your team has no decent sustain for the team, you can go for HoT. (Because if you get damage you can just blink out regen for a bit and continue your fucking push)
TLDR get butterfly if you can get away without being damaged alot, get heart when you know you will be the one tanking and learn to abuse the regen of HoT to get in and out in engagements/siege. (like a slark)

why would you get moonshard quickly
if youre ahead they'll run out of mana quick and your only source of damage which is mana break won't proc the bonus damage again since their mana is already 0
BKB against heavy lockdowns
skadi against raw magic damage
aghanim against lineup with little lockdown and theyre single targets
Umm actually abbysal give more mana burn than any of other item. So you need a basher after manta 90% of the time
Eh depends. Battle fury, manta always. After that it's situational. If you need to split push go for scepter, or linkens. Then abyssal.
If you are ahead and teamfighting more then go ahead and get abyssal for a pick off into racks. Butterfly is 6th slot if there is nothing better to get
i have seen a miracle antimage build, when his team left and he was 2v5, he build yasha moonshard abyssal and shitstomped them only to get manta later.
Pretty sure u get butterfly after abyssal against physical dmg or for dps, and skadi afterwards against more magical and when u need more tankiness less dps. Against certain lineups skadi can even replace abyssal. Aghs/linkens is situational. Ive also seen a 6th slot ac, for pushing in backpack and shit. Bloodthorn is also i nice dps disabley item. Against weaver for example i wud go bloodthorn after abyssal. Against a lifestealer tho i wud go butterfly after abyssal then skadi.
I wouldn't get heart on am.. At least not that early. It would just mean the game is lost. Have you tried mkb after abyssal?

Luxury Items:
Bfly --- Buy it if you are stomping hard and super ahead in net worth but watch out for early MKB carriers. The damage and attack speed is so good that the item can't be passed up because it synergizes with Mana Burn and your Manta Illusions. It literally makes you the hardest carry in the game. A priority pickup for your 6th slot.
Moonshard = More attack speed means more kill potential. A priority pickup for the buff.
HoT --- Pick it up when there are no good initiators on your team so you can indepently jump towards one of the enemy heroes. It is good against Necro, Invoker, Axe or any burst/lockdown hero but I still prefer bfly in any case. A priority pick for certain scenarios.
BoT = More map movement means more teamfight, split push and flash farming. A priority pickup.
Mjollnir --- This is when you need to sell your BF for something that would further increase your kill potential while still having the power to clear waves. The attack speed synergizes with your Mana Burn and Manta Illusions. Bfly + Mjoll + Abbysal = You can literally jump at anyone and kill them in less than 5 seconds. A priority pickup for late game scenarios.
Bloodthorn --- This is for that pesky heroes that have evasion or that escape skill. Somewhat useful for popping linken's spheres but not recommended. The active is always useful in some cases but not against bkb, lotus and BM carriers. Not a priority pickup.
Eye of Skadi --- Good for stats. A good alternative for HoT and Bfly but the two prior items are more useful for AM. The slow now synergizes with Mana Burn. Not a priority pickup.
AC --- If the enemy has too many armor reducing skills and items. More useful if you have another right clicker in your team. Not a priority pick up.
MKB --- Only buy this if there are 3 or more heroes that 20% evasion in a team. This item usually wastes AM 6th slot but its needed when evasion is the theme of the enemy team. A discourage pickup.
Scythe of Vyse --- LOL. If you're really annoyed with that hero with manta and BKB. An expensive linken's popper. A discouraged pickup.
Divine Rapier --- Rush this = EZ game. Oops.
All other items are strongly discouraged for AM unless you're making a troll build.

Dont buy vlads and dont buy helm after battlefury, its too late for these items. HoT is outclassed by skadi. Mjollnir is just unecessary. U only buy ac against something like elder titan or when u need pushing power as a backpack item, cuz otherwise butterfly is a better item. Even against mkb, butterfly gives better dps than ac for am. Against lineups who lack escape and r kitable u can replace abyssal entirely with skadi. Mkb is kinda bad but sometimes needed. Refresher is also ok for double abyssal, and as a backpack item, or against a storm if one ulti wont one shot him. Am is rather self explanatory.
^Mjollnir is actually helpful. Hahahaha It'a legit but I can understand that it's rarely picked up since it just gives raw attack speed but don't we all love attack speed?
U dont need attack speed on an agi hero who buys shit like butterfly. If u do just buy a moonshard.
