Phase or tranq, greaves when u need purge. Tranq when u need sustain or against physical dmg, typically when behind or even. Phase when ur ahead and already very durable, and just need to kill them faster, when ur ahead.
It all comes down to what role you're playing and what's better.
Abaddon works fine in pretty much any role, and also against a lot of stuff. Instead of trying to find the universal best answer, just try to find the better one for the current game (or that suits best your way of playing him).
Now this thread would be a bit more productive if we were to debate specific example cases for each boot to be better
greave or tranq in my experience
but i really like tranq because i go 4411 build. phase has a ton of synergy with curse and tranq has negative synergy with it
