I wouldn't buy HotD for CK even though it's a too good item for all heroes, just doesn't feel right.
How bout' a Hand of Midas? lel
You can try to prolong the game and catch up later if early game goes bad
And cleave doesn't really counter illusions, if you're near them and cannot finish them off, you're dead.
