I don't think the problem is JUST me, is it possible that I got into some pool that doesn't let me win or something?
Unluckiness maybe. Sometimes loss streaks just happen, but if you want to take something positive from them you can try analysing them.
With your wr% you definitely show that you're climbing up, just a bad bunch of games.
No the problem is you, and no playing 8 hours a day doesn't make you any better.
I play more Dota than anyone I know and I am far from being a really good player. I just enjoy the game with friends now.
4.5 - 4.9 is probably the hardest dota I have ever played, not cause I was bad, or that the players were bad, it was just all collectively awful. Once I hit 5k a couple years back it's been constant and I have remained there but the uphill struggle will be hard and it will take a lot of time and patience.
If you find you haven't moved in a very long time then mix it up, move roles. I went from pure support, to offlane, to carry, to occasional mid in the course of a year and it's served me very well. Not because of the role, but because I wasn't changing my game up so i stagnated.
focus on counter picking using your highest winrate heroes of the last month (use DB to find that out)
wait for your team to pick and fill in the role required.
Mute everyone (or anyone toxic) and do not speak to anyone. In dota there is almost never a reason to talk in pubs. If you are winning your team is doing the right thing. If you are losing, telling them what to do will make them tilt and play shittier. Pubs are far more likely to learn from their mistakes (feeding) on their own, as opposed to being criticized which will just make them defensive.
hey havoc, when you flatlined, what did you do to improve? or did it just happen over time with more and more experience. did u consciously try to improve? or you just enjoyd the game and let your subconscious do the work
i have the same prob as u do,so i decided to make this smurf account to improve my game, its helping i guess my winrate is good just w8ing to try out rank(need 20 lvl),then ill be back on my main.

Recently every time I open dota i fin myself losing, can't do anything about it and it's not like I got someone to boost my acc, it's the same profile, the same mmr and the same ending in ranked games. Can someone tell me why?
