    But..

How do you tell if a certain engagement was just simply bad strategically, or if the reason u lost was a misplay?

Obvious one is like 1 person walking into 5 is bad strategically. Or if an important friendly hero is showing on the other side of the map, and ur team wants to push hg.

But sometimes u go into an engagement, u lose a fight. It's easy to think "we shouldn't have fought". But sometimes it was just a misplay, and we are still stronger. Sometimes it was just a poor strategic decision to go into their jungle with 3, even though no one misplayed.

Question is, how would u guys analyze situations like these? Dumb question I know, but I just need someone who can help to articulate these things for me. Thx

Comparing your cores itemization and theirs play a huge role in fights, this is what i observe from 1-2k shitters they just like forcing fights or objectives like hg or rs when clearly they arent farmed up enough to fight back if a shitfest starts lol.

Ok. That's a good one. Itemisation. Let's say it is somewhat even then. How do u tell if it was a misplay and u should keep fighting them?

Simple if the one you plan to keep alive for fights for example a core or a sup with a spell who could turn the tides of fights dies and you still persist and continue fighting, just remember not to force fights, if needed play as passive as possible and await hg defence.

Look at the map, see who on the enemy team is visible, who isn't. Try to predict where the enemy is, assume all missing heroes are together and make sure the number of heroes you're roaming with is equal or more than the number of enemy heroes is missing. Plan ahead based on what abilities the enemy team has, if they have heroes like Mirana, plop down some sentries, if they have blink heroes like Tide, Axe, Slardar, Centaur etc. then don't group up too closely. Do your best to hide your exact location from the enemy team, but at the same time be close enough to jump in to a fight at a second's notice.

you re-watch the replays aka the teamfights in them

and you can obviously see if you pressed the wrong buttons or gone on the wrong targets

if neither is correct, then you took the wrong fight
