Heya..well its been something more than a year that i passed the account to my little brother and quited DotA. i was about 5,8 to 6k solo mmr when the top was about 7,2. Decided to play again 20 days ago while the MMR was at 3.2k. After nearly 60-70 game i am pretty sure that there isnt any possibilty to climb back. Instead of that i am -150 mmr from the startin position!!! Ok some matches was about to find the rythm and feel comfortable again on using the game ( i never stopped checking new patches and big events ans streams). The skill level isnt that bad as i thought BUT its more about mentallity of the people are playing. Super toxic players. Players that they quit completely on a heavy push even on 15th min. People that because the lost their lanes decide to go and feed the other lanes as well.
I can see during tha game that i am not for this mmr. I can feel it on the way the other players react comparing to myself. Maybe i am not yet again for 6-7k but i believe i can stand on a 5k mmr game. Anyone have faced that before? Is there any kind of tips to climb ? Just to get out of the s**t so i can play a semi-proper games coz now all are pretty sad and boring winning and losing(like 4,5k f.e.). Thought of a new acc but...so many games...so many items...stats...hours on this acc...its nearly my dota history i have this acc from the early beta form of DOTA 2 i dont want to leave it.

      Yea, you face 2 problems

      1. You forgot how to play, so you need to refresh your knowledge and update your playstyle to the new meta

      2. High mmr overexpectation from low players: forget about your team in sub 5k, you almost never need them, focus on regaining your forgotten knowledge

majority of players, if not all under 4.5k, dont know how to teamplay nor do they make plans to win

So just focus on 1v9 till you're there, then you can use the ye old' 6k+ mmr teamplaiz for free winz

Well quite the same here. I was at 4.3k and stopped playing. Now I rarely play and have lost a lot.

It's hard to climb for sure. If I perform badly, I lose - which happens quite often right now, because of low consistency due to no practicing.
But if I pick a hero I'm good with and try my best and I realize that I am performing really well, then it doesn't help too much. If I decide to farm with a hard carry, my team goes nuts. If I fight with them, we tend to win the fights, but I don't get enough farm, to win the game alone.

The hardest parts is to make them do the right things. If we win a fight, they don't take advantage from it at all. I tell them to do Rosh or push the towers, depending on whats possible. Instead they - oftentimes - do nothing or the wrong thing. I feel like you need to make your team do the right things. But I'm not too sure about - how to do that.

yep there is this one very sad thing about some low skilled players. tthey are so stuck on their 1v9 mentality, that when they do get a decent and cooperative team (like in example you), they try to 1v9 in their noob way which often results in lost games coz they splitpush at wrong times, dont make use of won fights well enough, play completely antisocial and toxic, etc etc.
tldr you're right and i don't even know myself how to deal with those m*therfuckers... like slark my last game, fucked my epic win streak...

Simple: if someone proves himself to be trustable, then you dont have to 1v9

            AAA

yeah but in somewhat-higher-skilled games 4v5 is still a sure loss

                True, that's why i said 1v9 to 4.5-5k

Then 5v5 in higher than that

Well that...Win a fight and tp back to get the 3-4 stacked waves of enemy creeps to another lane for the gold instead of getting mega creeps on a lane or rosh is something i cant mentally handle. For example i played an alche i was 6 sloted in about 30 mins. The game ended at 80th min with a loss. Won like 4-5 critical fight between 30-45th min and none followed on ending that. as a Result a 6 slot Slark and 6 slot LC > 6 slot Alche at 75th min.

It happens to everyone, just realize that they're the same as you (or 100x tougher) once they get items so pls don't fuck up your early game
