Smurfs in general are pathetic man.
Smurfs in general aren't pathetic. If so, you'd basically be calling out every pro player. Smurfs aren't only used to try and calibrate at a higher mmr.
The game analyzes your KDA, total hero damage, total tower damage, etc. It starts doing this since your first match and will consistently update it. It will always pair you with players with similar stats, no matter account level.
Ya it's funny cuz when you look at a team that just got stomped on in 4K and look at their profiles the team that got stomped usually has two smurfs on it . You can usually carry one smurf pretty easy but 2-3 becomes pretty tough since almost half your team doesnt belong at that mmr .

The reason Pro's play with smurfs is to preven scouting. Pro's are always checking each other out, too see what the "competition" is up to. Having a smurf let's them play all they want without fear of being scouted.
There smurf account still play's at the same level of their main account .

Well thats not really smurfing is it? Theor goal isnt easy wins for stat gain. I would not say what they do falls under the definition.

during first 10 games on a new smurf, 1 game can be up to +- 2k mmr depending on how hard you stomp/ or get stomped

Steam publishes the amount of players it has each month etc. DOTA definitely isn't dead or dying.

I played a game with my friend's newly opened smurf, http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/2719478944 we were against 5 low lvl smurfs, none of them were new players, they just wanted to calibrate a higher mmr. And I made all of them rage quit as expected, this is truly pathetic.
