Bob just solo killed fred, who was only spending his unreliable gold on items.
Fred didn't lose gold, but he died because he didn't have any reasonable items.

reliable gold is the gold you gain from killing heroes, towers or slaying roshan which you don't lose upon death.
unreliable gold is gold that you gain when farming lane-jungle-stacks that you lose amount of it based or your lvl , streak , net worth when you die .
so what Elijah said that for example you killed roshan (+200 gold) , don't spend them on X item because you are not going to lose them upon death anyway(can be saved for buyback then) and instead farm those 200 gold afterward to complete your item.

Do not buy items as soon as your gold hits it's cost, as much as possible try to use unreliable gold in buying cheap items, that is so when you need to rice up a big item like relic, you wont lose as much gold when you die. Also, SAVE GOLD FOR FUCKING BUYBACK reliable gold that can be used for bb is better than a vanguard in your stash that you will fuse with your basher to get an abbysal
