dazzle is always a solid pick, and yes KOTL is awesome. i've been playing kotl alot lately and he is OP as hell. its really just who counters their team and compliments your team. do you have a huskar teammate? pick dazzle. bristle or timber enemy? pick kotl.
but for safe picks for ANY game id say: Dazzle. Omni. Disruptor. CM.
another note, when i play KOTL i dont usually skill Q until late. max Mana leak and chakra magic and just spam Mana leak on enemy everytime its off cooldown. go into the lane where you have the most mana dependent ally/nuker and just keep his mana up. also, your ult is a low cooldown, so spam your ult...Mana leak enemy, then blinding light him whiles hes mana leaked to waste even more mana of his.
i dont understand how blinding light knockback works tho
is it random or it there some trick to it to push them away from you/bring them closer?
How about Jakiro ? I really like these guys because they can push hard, stun multiple enemies every 7 second, and has a huge AOE slow. They can counter pretty much any carry especially the one that hit hard but not too often (Sven for examples). The only problem you might have is their spell cast time, but with practice you'll get used to it.
I like lion, once you get blink, game is pretty ez
1. blink onto an enemy
2. hex
3. mana drain while still in hex
4. earth spike
5. finger of death
that should guarantee a kill, but only works early/mid game
I used to play lion a lot as you can see from my most played heroes but I feel he has fallen off quite a bit isn't it ?
What Arin said. Those are safe first picks. If you don't have to pick first, try to pick some counter.
DS - Omni, Oracle.
Void - Lion, Disruptor.
Timber - Skywrath, Lion.
BM - Enchantress, CM.
Bristle - Silencer, SD.

Hi guys... I am predominantly pos 5 player.. Calibrated at 3092 mmr.. rose to 4.4k and then dropped to 3.7k once 6.87 came.... Please help me as to which supports ( pos 5 ) are in flavour currently and any tips would be appreciated.
