And yes ward is a pretty good counter item. Unless the Riki is not retarded and always assumes that enemy territory is warded every time, but you are normal skill so you don't meet that kind of people.
Gem taken by Riki is reportable I think, I think you should stick to them wards.

Honestly, that level of paranoia is about as stupid as the riki who assumes the enemy does not ever have dust or wards.
Not really stupid, but I didn't phrase it well enough. At least assume like this: Support in the area - warded.
Also, of course, you check the items for dust and wards so you know for certain they have it or no.
If you have a Manta Style it's much easier, as you can just send an illusion to check if it's warder or no, lul.

EZ because enemy stupid and EZ counter riki because riki player it stupid 80% of them don't know that :
1)Counter pick Shadar or BH ( Since 80% of the player pool don't know WTF can the diffusalblade do)
2)Counter item not ward that stupid (gem, necros booklevel 3 if you don't know why you are a part of that 80%,MKB,dust(which riki can counter with his core item)
3)Like most of those guys here mention out NUKE ( any nuke can basically kill him i know i played him before )
4)Unti it a neft because the enemy know exactly where you land to dust you (but if you dust when he is in unti then GG)
5)Zeus kill riki super hard in lance
6)Stand and fight don't run because that how backstap work.
So no i don't think he should be neft you cryer are just to stupid or always panic to kill him or because somebody feed the guy and that how i see riki as both his enemy and his player.
P.S they still call me no skill so i change to Arc :P
