They are. But if you think they're not going to monetize it, you're wrong. It's going to be "premium" only.
they need smthng good to br part of their compendium event to increase its popularity, i suppose, and battle cup seems to be a good option.

Like the title says, why not keep the Battle cup? (Perhaps just rename it?)
I've yet to come across someone who hasn't enjoyed having it, it's a chance to get together a team and have a really good time while also being competitive and maybe winning a rank on your profile saying you won this amount of battle cups... What do you guys think?
