as a PL I often had problems vs slarks with abyssal, if you can find the real PL and stun him, he's practically dead.
why the fuck wud the pl not disengage when troll activates bkb? He will simply run away or doppelganger out if i try to slow him
Actually Maelstrom isn't bad on Troll. It's an item that is good on heroes who attack fast and Troll is one of the faster attackers.
^Agreed. Its the hyperstone in the mjolnir which makes upgrading the maelstrom inefficient for troll. same reason he duznt make AC. otherwise fervor and ulti make maelstrom a really badass item on the hero
I saw once a Lifestealer he went for Battle Fury, Mjolnir, Blink and Basher, he rekt PL and his whole team solo
Use the active ability of mjollnir on yourself. Thats omwhy you buy mjollnir appart from saving a slot.

Same as Windranger pretty much, maelstorm can buff your dps by a lot and help you farm a bit faster, but the upgrade isnt very good for either, I guess its better for troll to buff you up when tanking a lot and it should make a difference int he first hits before your fervour stacks up, so yea I think maelstorm is a better solution (over BF) against a pl.

This game is me as a bloodseeker vs pl + naga lineup, according to yasp I dealt 14k hero damage just from the mjollnir procs.
Just buy bloodthorn, its good on troll. Get sb ,silence him to death ez crits no illusions. Omfg
Mjollnir is awesome on lifestealer cus attack speed helps feast so much. Feast is like free raw dmg which is why lifestealers love echo sabre, deso, ac and attack speed items cus armor reduction increase the dmg feast does, and so do more attacks with lifesteal and echo sabre. Have you ever seen a lifestealer rush a moon shard vs a team full of hp heroes like pudge and tide? They just melt.

Sand king, rush aghs. Makes PL's entire team explode in acid. First saw it at manila, was only game sand king was picked. Empire knocked secret out of the tournament with it.

Also any aoe hero in general is good, dragon knight, sven especially good. For supports and crap lina, winter wyvern, guys who can spam aoe nukes.
I'm pretty sure a 6-slotted pl can wreck ur whole team if he did right item choice.
Illusion-based hero are the hardest to deal in late game.
Timber, Leshrac (even though hes bad at the moment), Medusa and Sven are some of the best heroes to counter PL. Any hero with lots of AOE nukes or an attack modifier that gives them AOE (eg, Cleave, Split shot, Flack cannon) is good against PL. A notable exception is TA since her Psy-blades don't trigger when attacking illusions. Both Battlefury and Mjollnir are good items to pick up. Someone on your team should also get a shivas
^ actaully medusa and pl counter each other , pl has mana break and is elusive which is good vs dusa and dusa has split shot and stone gaze which is good vs pl . I'd actaully say over course pl has more advantages by a very slight margin they both will have power peaks at different times with pl's diffusal a large one . Its actaully pretty cool cuz they counter each other . So pl very slight advantage but medusa currently a better hero in pubs right now .
^in both pro matches, and in my own pubs, I've always seen that the lancer over-powers the dusa. I think 6 slotted pl would rape equally farmed medusa.
u can simply doppel ganger right when stone gaze is about to take effect if u time it right

If you feel you can't deal with a PL you get a Vangaurd for the damage block, illusions don't hit through it. Maelstrom and Mjollnir is awesome because 1 proc and you can identify the real one and that's all you need
1)Mjollnir doesnt work with satanic
2)BF will give u more damage that u so much need
3)In case of pl gets skadi\heart lightnings gonna deal around 0 dmg unlike BF that becomes stronger and stronger with ur items coming in
4) its easier to farm with bf

If I'm troll warlord, and hav an enemy pl, I often get maelstrom (after helm) on troll to deal with phantom lancer. Obviously, come late game even a mjolnir wont help a troll fight a 6 slotted lancer (its just the nature of the matchup), but I've found that the lancer is very weak in early to mid game against a maelstrom troll.
Obviously the item is sub-optimal on troll, esp upgrading it to mjolnir, as the attack speed is completed wasted. But lighting procs synergize well with troll due to fervour and ulti. Slight benefit in farming too, although troll is a great farmer even with a simple s&y.
Anyway, wat r the community's thoughts on dealing with pl as a troll warlord?
