Invoker isn't about pulling combos off. Invoker is about pressuring the enemy. If the way to pressure the enemy is qw orchid builds then you go that way, if the way to pressure the enemy is to overlevel and outfarm then go with qe build and then drop some damage on their faces.
Play with bots a ton, also you have to understand what his spells do and what are they for.
For example the fire spirits help you farm, they also decrease the armor of the enemy so they hit harder after a few attacks.
Coldnsap interacts with any source of damage, thats why some Invokers get Urn of SHadows
the Icewall slows the fuck out of everyone, pretty massively
EMP is to drai nthe mana of dangerous spellcasters
Meteor and Sunstrike for massive damage
Alacrity to inrease speed and right click dmg, you can use it on yourself during a fight, to push a tower, for your safe lane carry, to securekills during coldsnap, choice is yours.
Tornado is to set up EMP or Meteor or sunstrike, to catch people escaping, etc
and the deafining blast is like a small disable knockback and at level 25 is the best and when it shines
invoker is a really good hero man space maker nuker,you can say it is like all around hero you but if you play passive mid to late its useless deciding your items early is a big impact if you guys losing team fights early

I don't know much about Invoker and absolutely suck at playing invoker. If someone could, can you explain where he is at in the meta? And what is the normal build, I used to only see quas exort, but now all I see is quas wex, how come? And what do you even build item wise if you do go quas wex? I really want to pick up the hero and learn to play him but I am afraid that I will do extremely awful and make my team angry. I've played bots and I win consistently but its because I know how to land combos on bots. Is there any way I can learn the hero without making a team full of people angry?
