good item against some heroes

Didn't watch video so don't know the rest of Miracles build, but I went up against a slark who rushed bloodthorn recently and he basically did nothing the whole game. We could burst him down before gee got his ult off because he had no HP and the silence didn't help him kill supports early more than a shadow blade or echo sabre would have. I guess later on its viable but rushing it as a first item is bad.

bloodthorn gives you almost double damage if it isn't purged.

the important part is the purge, which means it sucks in teamfights and against other carries.
