Does international queue recalibration actually work? in General Discussion

I thought it would be nice to recalibrate since I'm currently at the wrong mmr, but I feel like it's not working that well. From what I can tell you still only gain/lose around 25 mmr. (but I've only tried a few matches to be fair)

Who here has played the 10 calibration games after having already calibrated before?

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

      my previous mmr was 2.2
i stomped 8 of my intl calibration ranks (playing pos 1/2 with at least 500 gpm)
lost one as beastmaster offlane and lost the 10th game as a ward bitch bane (290 gpm in a stomp)
      and thus i calibrated at 2.4 :|
not worth it if u ask me, as the match qualities are lower in intl ranked coz of lower playerbase and every retard trying to do their stupid quest (bloodthorne "rush" clinkz solo offlane is pretty common)

just go work on ur normal mmr

yup, you'll get +200 your mmr and it's a gamble - yesterday i had kotol of the light doing stupid quest casting mana leak even on creeps

Started at 1.9k and jumped to 2.4 first picking hard supports. I only lost 1 match and felt that the player quality was actually decent. That being said, I had one queue where someone first picked AM and called jungling. After a little bit of failed reasoning someone on our team took an abandon for the team (Bless his soul) and spared the rest of us from that situation.

I don't know if the calibration factors are the same for normal ranked, but I had very poor gpm, tower damage, and rather low hero damage for most of the games.
I guess just give it a shot if you have it, and play what makes you feel comfortable! Most importantly, Have Fun!

Is regular calibration this insignificant or does this just use a whole different system?

No one can tell you anything about the mechanics of calibration, but international still averages around +/- 25 mmr change per match after you get your new MMR.
Other than that, I think the only real difference is that international ranked games are made up of exclusively compendium owners. Draw what ever conclusions you like about that population of the player base.

Its a waste of time look at your normal solo mmr you get almost exactly that +25-25 on top of that maybe.
Valve is a joke they shouldn't have called this recalibration..

it work based on your hidden mmr. let's say you calibrated at 1.7K and climbing to 3k in MMR, and never play unranked..your hidden mmr still at 1.7k, and when you calibrate it will based on your hidden mmrer means you will calibrated at 1.7k.

KUKULAMIN KA BUT THE K IS...

Wat, i calibrated almost at my same rank 4.2 then climb to 4.4 from there. Now i can try to climb on my normal rank without raging so much every lost game :D

Its useful, for me anyway :v

In this account my bracket is on Normal Skill, then I created a new account and it's on High Skill bracket, and then I go to TI Rank TBD in this account and it still on Normal Skill, so it's bases on your last unranked match bracket.
                        Sorry for my bad english

well considering it gives you a new ranking, it does do it's job of re-calibrating you. so i say it works
