Don't die, participate in kills, (even if it's just an autoattack, get that assist) do a lot of hero damage, hit buildings when there's nothing else to do, buy wards and sentries, buy gems, buy rapiers, upgrade couriers.
Even when you are losing, play as if you are winning because you can gain MMR in a loss as well as lose MMR in a win.
Play mid, carry and support. Don't go offlane unless you're gonna have a great time: timber, brood... I would avoid roamers as well but really just play your best heroes. When you support, play the strong supports like phoenix, disruptor, omniknight - and make sure you get your items.
all stats matter.
I think MMR is determined by your performance on a specific hero: if you decide to play support QoP, even if you do great, the game will recognize you as performing not-so-well - If you play carry veno and do great, the game will recognize you as top 1% player.
I'm saying this because I played a position 4 mirana, I outfarmed the mid player and had 4 KDA when the team average was ~2.5, decent hero damage but I lost 100 MMR because statistically, mirana is a farming core.
