It's in fact rare to find players in that bracket who play for fun. After all, having 5.000 MMR means being better than 99% of all Dota 2 players. Furthermore it's ranked, so it's totally understandable wanting to play to win.
For the suggestions, wait for someone with a higher MMR than mine..
normally tranquil do for sup aba, i make that cuz am. but greves will make more slot at late, so its up2u
Imo, if you play safelane support u need tranquil to constantly heal your core, if u go offlane u wont use heal too much so graves seems better...
tranquil + soul rind + mek or solar crest, finish the game.
As a supp aba i would go for heal + apothic shield build.

graves is a decent item for him & team but hard to go since u have to support your team sometimes with wards.
I also suggest u try agh vs massive aoe dps heroes like sven this patch.
And always prioritize shield over passive.
