The first placers of the groups get into the semifinals spot and the second and third placers battle it out for the semifinals spot. Obviously we only have 4 people in our groups and they have 6 (EDIT: Derp 5) but we want a high participation rate to the playoffs for more fun.
Other options include single or double elimination of the top two places of each group, or simply having all of them advance to the playoffs with the first place facing the last place and the second place facing third place cross groups.

Other than the post-round playoff organisation, one important factor to keep in mind is who chooses to pick first and who chooses the side (e.g. radiant/dire). In most professional games this is usually a coin flip.
Yoshi should sort this out before the games begin – either do a coin flip yourself or just assign them randomly. Since each team plays 3 games in the groupstage, if you're assigning them consciously, try and avoid having a team picking the same thing three times in a row (e.g. all 3 games picking radiant/dire or pick order).
