idk why but in most games your carry has pretty bad score with many deaths... If you are supporing, you might try to babysit him more, if you are offlane try helping safelane or switch lanes. Do you leave your carry very often during laning(stacking, pulling)? You may want to try carry role yourself
No I don't leave my carry very often. Although a few times the last few days when I told the carry I was gonna pull and usually mid pull he died. As for core I could I'm not very good at postion 1 and I'm not the best mid either. The thing about mid in my particular case is whoever else would play mid is probably better at mid than I am. I do play offlane fairly often though.
. The thing about mid in my particular case is whoever else would play mid is probably better at mid than I am.
so whats the problem? u are exactly when u must be
ok im a bit sleepy right now, i mean "where" u must be
if u are not better than ur teammates why u think u must win consistently?
I'm sorry that still doesn't really make sense. In the case of mid more then likely one of the other 4 people I'm with are probably better at mid than I am so that's why I don't pick mid. That point is sort of irrelevant though. I'm trying to focus on what I can do to improve my gameplay so I can try to win more consistently instead of pretty much lose consistently.
Regarding offlane, I don't think bristleback is a meta hero right now... For example, in the last BB game imo mars would've been great. Also, do you play actively on pos4 willow? I think her kill potential at early levels is very huge, so you should consider not staying at offlane much but rather gank other lanes.
ur right, my bad
not picking bristle back can be a good start, if u think bristle back is a good hero u cant get out of normal skill,
stop picking support abaddon in archon, saving retarded carry wont make u win tbh, no point in it, try to pick sth with burst dmg, more disable
watch some high mmr replays
Pick pudge, max passive first then rot, buy phase boot to pipe. You will get tanky pudge with dk armor and regen
Learn to play other roles than support. I don't think you can be a good support, without being a good core.
choose a mid lane hero ; watch some immortal players play it; play 20-40 turbo games and copy what they are doing -> do it in ranked-> gain mmr
Alright replies to everyone first Silap I agree he isnt that good at all I was just playing him recently because he happens to be one of my better heros. With willow no I usually sit in lane and harass but again I agree I should probably roam more. To Kowareta I see what your saying its not worth helping people who arent going to do anything. I'l try playing more burst and less heal heros. Vishnu I agree and disagree it's definitely true but to a certain point but il consider trying to play more cores.
Playing support places too much reliance on potentially incompetent teammates. You are better off playing the midlaner. Pick something that dominates
the lane and translates well into the late game.
Based on the replies i've been getting its sort of half and half in terms of just continuing to play support or start playing core.
it doesnt matter what role u prefer to play, but if u play core u will understand how to support better
i've played mostly mid from archon to legend with ranked role, and if queue time going to be long, pos 5 AA on normal ranked
its not like only midplayers gaining mmr
if u are playing 5, u must be ready for enemy picks, install dotaplus (http://dotapl.us/) and ban enemy best heroes
pick sth that will shut their heroes , match up is very important
if they have a wr spammer get a good hero aginst her, if they have a meepo player pick ww, if they have huskar morph spammer pick aa,....
I lost 13 matches in a row might be my worst streak ever, because i tried to mid , support , or offlane. All three roles i am not used to. I am back at safelane now just play one fixed lane, if you are support play greedy f..k 2k carries. They want whole map warded which is not possible. First pick shaman in every game is good if you are reallly good at it. I played support from 1k to 2k. After that i tried to but my carries are pretty stupid. If you are a dedicated position 5 try to feed less :). It doesnt help the team, if you are trading kills its worth , if you get their pos 1 by killing urself anything below that is simple mindless feed.
Ps i am not even good but i did managed to calibrate at 430 and make it to 2830.
From what i have seen from your games, and from my experience as a main support, your problem is lack of movement around the map, all your cores have more than 8 deaths, you need to improve your sense of tpying, TP is with no doubt one of the strongest items in the game, learn to be in lane but having an eye on mid and offlane, so you can respond for enemy ganks in time, an even turning an enemy gank into a kill for your mid/offlane is massive. Being a support is more than pulling, harrasing and warding, in the first 10 minutes of the game, the supports are the strongest heroes on the map. Abuse your free tp, ward the river for your midlane, and at the start of the game give the mid a sentry, it is almost always a free 100 gold and exp for mid.
So thats it, try to be more active in lane stage, and TP mid and offlane to defend your allies from ganks.
Hey I've been doing everything that you guys have been suggesting I have been playing support and just staying in lane longer as well as harassing more and being more aggressive. Also I've been buying less wards and more items for myself which also has been surprisingly working out. Finally I've also been using that pl dota program. I've used counter pickers before but this one is really nice.
Yup your right. If you take away abandons from years ago I'd have a positive Winrate that's how I like to keep positive and look at it.
If you cant beat them with skills, beat them with knowledge. Most archons and legends dont know basic game mechanics. Go research for tips, try dota alchemy in youtibe it will probably help you shoot up to legend up to ancient 3 or something
if you really want a real advice, just watch 5k 6k 7k replays smh
nobody really goes to see your games seriously and most of the times stuff ppl saying are wrong
watching good people doing the stuff is the way
yea,or watch dota alchemy and stuff on youtube
I mean it may not be the same thing but I watch a good amount of pro dota if I can been doing it ever since ti3
try to not watch it on twitch though, cause u need to player perspective em to actually gain something and at least try to think what the hell are these guys even doing etc
also, even if you watch from ti3 the meta is really different atm,and gotta keep it up with new stuffs cause probably ti1 winner wont even win versus who got last place on ti now lmao
Well I know I mean I've been watching SINCE ti3 lol. Meaning I've been playing for 6 years. But yeah I need to watch more games in game.
OKAY then lol
but yea seriously just watch games ingame and try to understand whatever they are doing,it'll increase ur skill so much
If you want to consistently win then you have to be better than your opponents, and in order to be better than your opponents you need to know how to control the game better than they can, which cannot happen if you are playing support and hoping for four archons will somehow not feed and make terrible decisions on a consistent basis.
So play core. Watching pro dota helps with mechanical things but you have to recognize that different brackets have entirely different win conditions and a lot of things you do in one bracket to win will not work in another.
For example, If I remember correctly I think 3k is the bracket when people do not know how to farm at all and wander around but the moment you step foot near any tower you'll have 4 enemies tp and mindlessly run at you like their life depends on it.
For 4k there was something specific I think it was basically just splitpushing and pick offs, and for around 4.9k to 5.4k if you win decidedly win mid and make sure the rest of the enemy team knows they will start fighting each other and most likely someone will grief and give you a free win.

Just simply haven't been doing well. Feels impossible to consistently win. Based on my profile what can I improve on?
