Yes it is strange. Seems like calibrated both party and solo will give you a medal higher than either
They added a new feature you upgrade your medal no matter if you play solo or party games if you win percantages go up
For exapmle if your solo is 4k and you have Ancient 1 medal with lets say 85%, but your party is 2k and you win party games you will get upgrade on the medal.
Its just one more cheap trick from Volvo to give players incentive to play ranked, but this makes medals even more meaningless.

I am fairly new to game and i always thought that Medal is based on highest MMR between either Party or solo MMR score
However, when i got my solo MMR calibrated at around 900 and then party MMR around 1420, i got guardian 7 (based on party).. then i noticed while am playing solo that % towards next medal is increasing (although party MMR which is the highest is not moving)...few minutes ago .. i acheived again 900 solo after a drop.. and i got crusader 2 (with 920 solo and 1420 Party!!)
any explanation?
