When to pick: when you're in a match of dota 2

Item build: usually midas, I've seen Zai go midas > dagon to stomp my 5k avg pub. There are many builds you can go. You don't even have to get midas. I've also seen a right click build with hotd butterfly and shit
Midas > bots > blink or shadow blade or farming item like maelstrom first, mjollnir is legit too > bloodthorn > rape bitches
Playstyle is different every game. If there's kills available, go for kills. If you can get a T1 and T2 instead of 2 kills, get the towers. There's no one playstyle.
Skill build is same 100% of the time I'm sure.. get an early point in w after maxing q if you want but I doubt you'll ever need it

midas is 10000000000000% core on this hero
there isn't a single game where you wouldn't get midas
pros: solo hero which can win games without a team, also works well in a team
cons: low mobility, requires a lot of skill to learn and master, easy to shut down, squishy glass canon
item build:
starting: wraith + 2 pooled tangoes + pooled obs + branch + faerie, if no pooled tangoes buy your own instead of the branch+ faerie
laning phase: aquila + bottle OR salve/mango, some people get both bottle and salve/mango but they skip aquila, then boots of speed + midas
never skip midas
midgame: maelstorm(later mjolnir)>
if you can fight, deathball push or you need to fight or defend a deathball push: dragon lance
if none of that: BoTs
so it's maelstorm> bots + dragon(later hurricane)
all it depends is which item you get first
some games you can get shadow blade(later silver edge) if dragon lance(hurricane pike) isn't good enough ex enemy has a lot of initiation/catch (ex slark, storm)
next up it depends on the game, ex:
enemy has omni: diffusal
enemy has lots of push: another mjolnir
enemy has purges: hex
enemy has evasion + magic immunity/purge: mkb
if none are needed at that time, then you get bloodthorn, which is the pretty much most amazing item on this hero
skill build: 1-3-1-3-1-4-1-3-3-2-4-2-2-2-s-4-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s
hex and bloodthorn warden illusion will kill anyone in hex duration.
one of the very few heroes that can legit 1v9 with a good enough player.
hurricane pike is pretty good, just throw spirit when you use active for vision and you can 4 hit most supports.
just watch some replays from the "Alex the Fool" guy. hes mid 7k or so off of just spamming arc.

hey I said midas in almost every game, but I'm sure there are some extremely rare isntances where you just shouldn't. I don't like to speak in absolutes with dota
IME I get shadow blade when they have a hero like PA so I can get rid fo that evasion. You can get both sb and blink fyi
Blink is super aggressive. A support si farming a wave, just bots > blink and he's dead usually. You don't always need it but yeah.
You can even dive people with blink , balanced stuff
1. when almost never, the hurricane pike stats are amazing, unless there's nothing to set me up for positioning then i combo blink + hurricane
but it's only in extreme cases
2. anything that can jump and burst your main warden,
you get the appropriate mobility items to counter it
3. yep, you just don't buy full wraith, you go for hte compoenents without the slippers of agility which you buy at the side shop

p,s soy, no midas isn't in ALMOST every game,
1 IT'S IN EVERY GODAMN ARC GAME, unless you're retarded to throw away extra couple hundred gpm/xpm
2 pa is a natural bkb carry, she'll remove it with bkb. mkb counters pa
3 you don't need to jump anyone as an arc when pushing, you can just take towers from lowground
Oh btw, sure mkb counters PA but bloodthorn can be superior. If you can get it before she gets any items well she's just forced to go BKB rush which SUCKS on pa tbh
if you are getting a bloodthorn before the enemy pa is close to bkb then you've probably already won.

even if silveredge is better vs pa, i'd still get hurricane and mkb because when she jumps you so that you can force her away

it can't be purged off, but it doesn't apply if enemy is under spell immunity. i had the interaction backwards in my head
Ive been meaning to ask, what are your hotkeys? Do you use the regular grouping keys or static "select hero" "select all units" and "select all other units"? And what is your base set of actions when, say, you are about to engage a target? Mine is still a bit rough, usually ult>select all units>tab>slow(clone)>spark wraith>tab>spark wraith>attack>slow again when first debuff is about to end>attack. Still having trouble with simultaneously splitting up and having to deal with separate issues like original hero getting jumped and clone somehow is walking god knows where to.
