Valve initially thought cm arcana wouldnt sell much on release so they made that stupid beast brawl that depreciated the value of most existing cosmetic sets, sold the arcana with brawl credit as incentives, effectively demoting the arcana's value tier but ensuring it will sell at profitable rates

Look this is commercial venture and whats happening is that people are cringeu, they take a stupid ride atop a ephemeral donkey caravan, valve once exploited our fascination for (INTANGIBLE) bauble -> lel classic case of parable-style karmic reciprocation

It's not so much that you won't get more people who can't play wisp messing up your game (this hero has one of the lowest pick rates and lowest pick rates in pubs) - it's that it is a waste of an arcana vote. they put out like 2 arcanas a year - one of which is the popularly voted on hero as part of the TI compendium. Given that it makes sense for the arcana to be given to 1) a relatively popular hero which increases the chances of seeing it bought 2) a hero with a relatively decent winrate which increases the chances of the buyer playing with it.

Wisp fulfills neither of these conditions - he is barely picked at all and when he is he loses. So on the off chance you do buy a wisp arcana the chances of you playing the hero often enough to be worthwhile are pretty low since you are way more likely to lose on him and we all prefer to win and so play heroes we win with.

If wisp gets the arcana we have to wait another full year before we get another arcana for a hero who you might actually want to buy it or have a chance of seeing it in the game.

Given that I'll gladly be giving my votes to pudge in the finals. Better to see the fat fuck who already has more than a dozen sets including legendary ones with unique icons and effects etc with yet another fancy set, because at least that way the set will be worthwhile since people will be buying it.
