from this experiment we can see valve seems to cap it at 4999 mmr and will only place u in the bracket if u stomp the first match provided your hidden mmr before first rank is 4.9-5k.
if u fail to win and stomp, they drop you directly to 4k and adjust there.
they want to prevent account sellings i guess. if its too easy to calibrate 5k it will cause many problems obviously.
So how came some 6200mmr guy, posted about a month ago, that he had a match where a TBD was highest mmr... !?

the first calibration game is played on the level of your current hidden mmr, that can be way above 5k. however, in the 2nd match u r put to 4ks.
u can have TBD in more than 5k averages.
however, towards end of calibration u will go down to 4.5-4.9k
the cap is there.
30 nmm games and u can play ranked??? what level do u need to be able to queue ranked? it tells me 50, but I'm sure u aint lvl 50 right?

I found a lot lvl 7 tbd in 2.5k avg mmr (dota lvl). So, im sure their trophy lvl is not lvl 50 yet.
Yeah, you can play party ranked with 30 games, solo at Trophy lvl 50. And 5k is most surely the cap.
how can u smurf without being vhs? thats already a given or a free 4k mmr if u smurf

Thats because your account was created before the introduction of lv50 trophy level to play ranked
my friend first match calibrating had 4.8k avg mmr and won
then the next 2-4 match become 3.6k avg , that's 1.2k swing i dunno how this things works lmao

You need to have atleast 25 matches history on your
account... and their it is you unlocked the rank find match button..then click it... but suddenly their will be a message saying how many more matches needed

me too 32 normal games after that I jumped to ranked games :) that was the time when they released the battle pass but they fix the bug now :)
so according to yasp it was 4.6k and first ranked match was 4.2k or 4.3k and calibrated 4.6k, 1 mmr higher than main

I am playing on my friend's 1k account that is not registered to dotabuff thus the winrate and little games played (prob 400 games already in real).. I just play here for fun and try to prove to him (and possibly other people here) that u can consistently win games if the bracket is lower than ur real mmr

I calibrated solo 4950. Don't think you can get over 5k considering I had stomped 7 out of 10 with 700+ gpm/kda (sven/meepo in calib games).

I played with friends 4k+ then i got vhs on that games then i play solo then i got unknown skill. Should i continue playing with them ?? In order to get vhs or not.
