Not thinking pos 1. I guess pos 3.5 :-)
Do you need force staff if you've got a bkb and sprint? Why not blademail instead?
the idea is to just keep blink crush and sprinting out (force for dangerous situations). usually its after dagger, when u dont have bkb
force is definetely a must-have, bm doesnt sound like a good idea to me, but mb sometimes it might be optimal
dont get vanguard cos ur not gonna be tanking anything. better off getting force like others have suggested
K force staff it is :-)
Thanks for the advice guys. Makes me laugh how people whine about how hostile and elitist dotabuff is :-D
you can go for pt if u want to become a core later or if you have a very good start, but normally as a not very greedy offlaner you need tranqs for sustain.
tranqs isnt really a must have depends on how much u think u can get out of the lane. for eg if ure doing duo off or off 1v1 u can go treads or even keep brown boots idk
also offlane slardar doesnt really hit people
Treads + blink + domi + BKB = all you need to win as hard carry
tranq + Blink + Force + eul = all you need to win as support
haha i feel you, man
i always get euls for the lulz on all the heroes
As offlane Slardar, I go Vanguard into Crimson Guard to help the team win fights more decisively. Vanguard > Powertreads > Blink > Wand and you're set. Usually, when I get vanguard, I try to help out lanes and fight as much as possible because diving towers is so much easier with VG. From there, I try to get blink depending from the outcomes of teamfights (if I find myself losing teamfights, I just go jungle/lane to farm blink).
Usually you need to get BKB for this hero. After that, AC is the best choice for teamfighting and atk speed. Slardar doesn't necessarily need damage items, just go for atk speed items for more proc bashes - I really love Mjolnir with him. Initiating with a slithereen crush and watch as your auto-attack chain lightning procs travel across multiple targets is so fun to watch.
Vladimir's Offering is good too if no one is building it. Be flexible and situational - be water, my friend.
Position 1 Slardar is a VERY BAD idea unless you're snowballing like crazy. I prefer him to be played as pos. 2/3. Ask your teammates to pick a much stronger carry to take advantage of your amplify damage (void/pa/slark/sf). Might as well give the safe lane to a better carry.
EZ +25
no need to make a vang. before blink, blink is way too good to rush after boots.
tranq boots a blink, wand and TP you can make game turning plays.
also you can have lots of impacts before blink, be ready to tp and go to other lanes if needed.
I'm one of the few ppl who go force before blink. It just makes me get in more crushes from the mana and provides more utility from an offlaner, considering most people are either 1) out of position or 2) can't farm their initiation fast. The build up is nice too since it's another source of regen during laning if you go greedy and start with stout rop tango double branch
There are few games where I go blink before force, but those are games where were absolutely stomping
For a pos 1 slardar I go Midas vlads shadow blade to compensate for his slow farming ability, this gives me more AS and dmg then I go for mjoll silver edge sny ac bkb moonshard w/e u build on a slardar

Does vanguard have a place? Rush blink? Medallion first?
